Competition requiring a horse and rider to separate a single cow from a herd of cattle and prevent it from getting back to the herd.

This competition promotes the athletic ability and versatility of the horse as demonstrated in six classes – ranch riding, ranch trail, ranch reining, ranch cow work, ranch cutting and ranch conformation.

Ranch sorting is a western-style equestrian sport where riders work as a team to sort cattle from one pen to another in numerical order against the clock.

Teams of three riders work together to sort cattle and  move them into a pen. The objective is to separate three  specific cows from a herd of thirty and pen them within a set time limit.

Two mounted riders, known as the header and the heeler, work together to rope a steer in the shortest time  possible. The header ropes the steer's horns, head, or  neck, while the heeler ropes the steer's hind legs. 

Fun competitions involving various games and timed  events. These events test the rider's and horse's agility,  speed, and teamwork through activities like obstacle  courses and races.
